Preparatory excavation works will start on Wednesday, 17 June. The actual demolition and dismantling activities will begin on Wednesday, 1 July and are expected to continue until the end of September 2026. The works will take place on weekdays, from Monday to Friday between 07:00 and 17:00.
Safety zone
During the works, a 5-metre safety zone will be maintained around the demolition site. This zone serves as a physical buffer between the construction site and the public area, designed to protect bystanders from falling materials, tools, or other hazards. The safety zone is entirely located within the campus grounds.
Dust
During the mechanical demolition of concrete and masonry, dust may be generated, particularly in dry weather conditions. To limit this, water mist cannons will be deployed to actively suppress dust formation and dispersion. Wind direction is taken into account when positioning these installations, and they will be relocated if necessary. If dust nuisance still occurs, the works will be temporarily halted and additional measures will be implemented.
Noise
Based on the nature of the activities and the selected working method, no significant noise disturbance is expected. Should this occur, the works will be temporarily paused and appropriate noise mitigation measures will be taken.
